Planning the COH is an inclusive, voluntary and collaborative venture. The COH planners not only represent Native American communities, but they also come from a variety of professional venues. All conference planners are experts in their fields and bring to the table a wealth of education and experience which directly translates into an effective conference agenda. Each participant has an equal voice in the planning process. The success of this method is measured by the number of return planners.
We receive technical assistance from the Native American AIDS Prevention Center (NNAAPC) and the The University of New Mexico’s AIDS Education and Training Center. Although the conference has a coordinator, decisions about speakers, scholarships, brochure and RFA design, conference agenda, etc. are made as a group.
